Learn How to Use Fractions When Measuring
There Are 16 Lines Between Every Inch -  Add Up 16ths to Make Fractions





NOTE:   Odd numbers make sixteenths (16ths)

  • 1 - 3 - 5 - 7 - 9 - 11 - 13 - 15


NOTE:  Even numbers make:
  • eighths  (1/8 - 3/8 - 5/8 - 7/8)
  • quarter inches  (1/4 - 3/4 ) 
  • one half inch  (1/2)
  • 16/16ths  =  (next inch on tape) 




How  to  Convert  Sixteenths  to  Fractions

· Add up how many 16ths
· Place that number over a 16th fraction
· Then divide the numbers by 2 
· NOTE:   You can only divide even numbers  2 - 4 - 6 - 8 - 10 - 12 - 14 - 16




For larger numbers, divide the even numbers by 2 again
